I was reading the newspaper and saw a picture of an inauguration of one of the streets in our village a few weeks back. I was surprised that I was there. One can barely see my face but I know it was me because I was one of the bystanders at that occasion. In the front was our neighbor, artist Mauro Malang Santos who was with Mayor Sonny Belmonte most of the time while the Mayor just gave me a reluctant handshake. What’s funny is that they forgot to mention Malang’s name in the caption. Ironically, the paper that published the photo was Philippine Star(which Belmonte’s family own). Who cares! I’m famous now! Talk to my agent dammit!

In a further twist of irony the same day that I saw half my face on the Philippine Star was the same day that I had a meeting with the mayor at the Quezon City Hall and this time he was more warm to me(I don’t know if he really likes me). He was a nice old man and a lot of people in the waiting area was personally greeted by him which is a testament to the fact that he ran unopposed last elections because people just love the guy.

Footnote: I remember a guy who made a fake facebook account of my friend Jepoy stating that he lives in the most corrupt city in the Philippines. Wrong-o! QC has the best tax revenue and highest gross and net income in any city in the Philippines. This and the improvement of roads, sidewalks, schools, health centers and libraries throughout the city that sticks out like a sore thumb. To that guy I say this: You are a freaking nutjob my friend.
