You can’t separate man from his meat. That’s a fact. When it comes to burgers, I am finicky. I seldom order a burger from the regular fast food joints because they have a gazillion variants and they all taste the freakin same! Except for the Wendy’s Baconator, I forgo the Champ, Big Mac and the Whopper and choose their chicken sandwich counterpart.

The Crave burger is a different story, this burger joint first hit Iloilo by storm. Slowly, it has branched out here in Metro Manila and has been satiating the hunger of thousands of Manila’s hungry populace.

My verdict over the burger? Well I like the no nonsense approach of Crave’s burgers. They don’t brag about the special sauce and the sesame seed bun. The main strength of its burger is its patty, Crave Burgers are beefy and tender the lesser burger will be blown away(so to that certain clown and insect, be scared, be very scared). Pricing? The price seems reasonable I think the Baconator is way more expensive. What about the fries? Hmmm Its passable a bit dry to my liking. But… But… Is it filling?? Hell Yeah!! I could have taken many pictures of the actual burgers I have eaten but I was too preoccupied with the idea of eating the darn burger all the time.

Crave Burgers described in one word is AWESOME! I have tasted many a burger and Crave is one of my top choices(don’t be jealous TGIFridays Burger). I know my life will be short and I will probably die of a stroke someday but at least I have tasted a Crave Burger.

Okay you have won by a massive margin. Congratulations! The Philippines is in your hands by July. I applaud the fast results that wrecked the hopes of your opponents. You own the 2010 General Elections and you kicked their asses.

The Good! The Bad! The Ugly!

Now that you are president, you are in control of the Military. You now control the Armed Forces who have for years, have tried to crush insurgents but the insurgents are still there. It is now in your hands to deal with them.

The country’s debt is still huge! Let us pray that you can turn around a weak economy that is still feeling the recent global recession. You will now balance the fiscal deficits of our “rich” country.

You will now have control over government contracts, I hope that you have the intestinal fortitude to say “NO” to allies that will try to acquire juicy contracts.

You now possess the power to prioritize the delivery of basic services. It is now up to you if you want to produce smarter children by prioritizing education. If you want a healthier country, you can bolster our health care delivery system, God knows how it is in dire need of funding. There are other sectors in need of funding it is now up to you. The problem is balancing it is like balancing a double edged sword, it can cut you at either side.

Lastly, not all of your allies are your friends and not all of your critics are your enemies. You were brought up in a political family and we all know that there are some that will take your statements out of context.

Suggestions and Congratulations

Now that you will have the title: President of The Republic of the Philippines, please get a haircut. Get a damn haircut man! Your current ‘do makes you look like an old man, better yet go bald!

Get a wife! You have a hot girlfriend and it wont hurt your image if you get married. Do not think of love anymore, your old enough to be my father and it would be nice if someone would continue your family’s legacy. A first lady will help your presidency and I think Kris Aquino won’t cut it.

To you Benigno “Noy Noy” C. Aquino Jr, I give my sincerest congratulations! Good Luck! And to Gloria M. Macapagal-Arroyo: GOOD RIDDANCE!

What is in a name? We can be named Pedro, Juan or Ricardo but we have no choice in choosing our own name. His parents could have named him Jograd or Jobert but he was so aptly named Bayani. He was not only named Bayani but he also embodied it.

Like a true hero, he made sacrifices to attain his goals. His ultimate sacrifice was his popularity. During his heyday as the MMDA chief he made heads turned. He kicked ass and but everybody hated him. I know he had some crazy ideas but at least he did something significant totally in contrast with other people in the government. We can go on and on about the things he did but he did it for us to have a better society.

In an election filled with promises of change, why couldn’t we vote for someone who has always embodied change. Heck, he is one helluva change agent. He can transform a backwater municipality into a freaking city for Pete’s sake!

I know we all have a desire for a change. If Bayani is put in office we can all hope to see the Philippines transform from a tumultuous problematic country into a beautiful and progressive nation.

The elections is a huge nationwide fiesta. We can see singers, dancers and the requisite politician sing and dance. The campaign period can show a lot of performances, whether they are entertaining or disgusting is up to the person watching it.

Mascots are reserved for birthday parties and fast food joints. Their effect to the children range from making them cry to making them laugh. If that is the case can you imagine seeing a politician’s imagery blown up into a freaking mascot?

Appreciating mascots is really a subjective experience. Personally I couldn’t care less( but hey its just me and I had a weird fear of Suzie and Geno, the Sustagen mascots). If you look at it closely, the effect it has is purely for entertainment purposes and the real vote getter is the politician himself. If the person has a pure and genuine political platform of governance, the mascot is not needed but it does not mean that the mascots are not really awesome. They are.

The poller id! Nope its not the voter’s identification card. Its the piece of rubber that is proliferating in the wrists of people as of late. We call them baller ids.

The campaign managers have made use of a concept popularized by Nike a few years back that made Lance Armstrong’s foundation a few million bucks richer. The yellow rubber strap with the bold words Livestrong have been replaced by Pinoys with the requisite politicians name. Ahhh Filipinos are indeed smart( but I’m not sure if them choking hazards are made in China or not).

Today we can see Gardo for mayor or Pedro for president in thousands of Filipinos’ wrists but I guess the more appropriate name for them are not baller ids but poller ids!
